The Gospel of Grace, erroneously described as the Prosperity Gospel, is about what God has done for man. The Gospel of Grace is not about the sinfulness of man, it is about redemption, and salvation, and justification, and righteousness, and sanctification in Christ Jesus. The Gospel of Grace is about being a new creation in Christ.
Those who preach the Gospel of Grace are called heretics. Not because they teach grace but because they don't teach sin. The teachers of sin are still trying to appease an angry God, while the Gospel of Grace invites you to fellowship with a loving heavenly Father.
Those who believe the teachers of the Gospel of Grace are sometimes called ATM Christians. They are ridiculed and considered an object worthy of pity.
The teachers of sin have always been around and, like Cain, they only see an angry God. Yet there is not one reference in the Bible to a "gospel of sin". Yes, God points out many times and in many places that man is the slave of sin. But He spends much more time describing to man His plan for redemption and salvation. Yes, God tells man he cannot do it on his own. Therefore, it is by the grace of God that man shall be saved.
For by grace are ye saved through faith [believing]; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith [the accomplished believing] of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference [between the Jew and the Gentile]: For all [Jew and Gentile] have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his [God's] grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation [a payment, a sin offering according to the Mosaic Law] through faith [believing] in his blood, to declare his [God's] righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he [God] might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith [believing].
Call me an ATM Christian if you like, a man's label doesn't carry nearly the weight of a label God has applied to your life. And God just labeled those who believe as saved, righteous, justified, redeemed, forgiven. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that has justified those who believe. When God looks at those who have believed He sees the accomplishments of His son, Christ Jesus.
There are a few things that can be considered about an ATM machine. First, in order to draw anything from an ATM you must have an account with a bank. Those who have believed what God has declared in the gospel of grace have an account with God. Believers have a personal relationship with the owner of the bank that holds our account. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and His footstool is filled with gold, silver, and gems. But greater than all of those things, He has given righteousness and holiness. He has filled the accounts of those who have believed Him with the riches of peace, of joy, of wisdom, of the glory of the mystery which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
If it is wrong to look to God to fulfill every need that arises in a life, then the gospel of grace is wrong.
If it is wrong to trust my Heavenly Father to care for me, and to comfort me, and to encourage me, and to direct me, then the gospel of grace is wrong.
If it is wrong when the world attacks to draw upon the righteousness that God has given to all who believe, then the gospel of grace is wrong.
If it is wrong to believe for an abundance, so that you have to live and you have to give, then the gospel of grace is wrong.
2 Corinthians 8:12-15
For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
The sin conscious believer wouldn't turn to the account they have in God's bank because they are too conscious of their sin nature. Sin consciousness has never taught a person how to walk in God's grace. Sin consciousness only provides you with a knowledge of sin. Much like teaching an alcoholic the pitfalls of drinking too much.
I have an account with God and I'm not ashamed to go to Him to ask for help. Only an insane person would reject the help of God in favor of their own power and plan.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
The world will come at every one who believes God with tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril and sword. We need to remind one another of the words of God, of the grace of God.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
The him that loved us is Christ! He is the one who sacrificed himself for us. Through him we have the victory, through him we are more than conquerors. I didn't and can't overcome sin, that's why Christ did it for me.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When someone loves you as God loves you, when someone loves you as God's son loves you, then you don't draw back and discuss your failings and short comings. Rather you draw close, as close as you have to come to realize the power and presence of God is in you and with you in every situation.
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
God has chosen you, in Christ, to be holy and without blame, without a blemish, before Him in love. The sin issue is over for a believer. God has changed every believer with His creation of holy spirit within the believer.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
The presence of God is with you.
The power of God is in you.
This is an account you want to tap into.
